Politico: The Democratic governor of Ohio would be on anybody’s list, but he sure did seem to rule it out today:

“Absolutely not. If drafted I will not run, nominated I will not accept and if elected I will not serve. So, I don’t know how more crystal clear I can be,” he said in response to a question on NPR.

Reuters: Democratic Rep. Dennis Kucinich defied his party leadership on Monday by calling for the impeachment of U.S. President George W. Bush for launching the Iraq war — but his move was not expected to go anywhere. The Ohio representative outlined his intention to propose more than two dozen charges against Bush on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives.

Kucinich, a former presidential candidate, accused Bush executing a “calculated and wide-ranging strategy” to deceive citizens and Congress into believing that Iraq posed an imminent threat to the United States.

Birmingham News: The Blue Dogs, a 49-member coalition of conservative Democrats in Congress, today announced its endorsement of Parker Griffith in Alabama’s 5th Congressional District of north Alabama. “We believe he will join us in putting an end to the partisan bickering in Washington and pushing through commonsense fiscal policies and restoring accountability to our government,” said U.S. Rep. Mike Ross, D-Ark.

Griffith is a state senator running to replace Rep. Bud Cramer, D-Huntsville, who is retiring. His Republican opponent will be determined by a primary runoff next month.

TowleRoad: Yesterday TowleRoad.com posted an update on Northern Ireland DUP MP Iris Robinson, the UK’s very own Sally Kern, who said that gays can be cured of their homosexuality and advised them to seek therapy.

The remarks prompted political party Sinn Fein to call for her resignation and for the activist group Outrage! to call on people to start outing members of Robinson’s Democratic Unionist party. Like Kern, she seems to wallow in the attention her bigotry brings her. Robinson is now comparing gay people to murderers!
